Parents’ Guide Available for Defective Bassinets, Cribs, Play Yards

The Illinois Attorney General’s Office has just published a parents’ guide, "Rest Assured: While Your Baby Sleeps," on seven recent children’s product recalls that cover dangerous bassinets, cribs and play yards. Over the past year, nearly five million of these items have been recalled by the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission, but many remain in homes or may be offered online, at resale shops or at garage sales.

Consumers can download the free guide by clicking here or by calling the Attorney General’s Product Recall Hotline at 1-888-414-7678 or sending an email to recalls@atg.state.il.us.

ACTION REQUESTED: Working in cooperation with the Attorney General’s Office to help inform the public about the new guide, we are urging members to communicate this information on their web sites or in other communications to patients and other community members or by posting the attached flyer (click here) in appropriate areas of your facility.
